USEFUL INFORMATION FOR BUYERS
Cavetown Lake is to undergo regeneration by Irish fisheries, and this is to include research into the trout, by way of a survey of trout in the lake, which will take place sometime this month. The result of which will determine whether to restock or enhance current breeding fish.
There will be an introduction of new fishing stands alongside the bank, floating jettys and refurbishing of the current jetties. This will include landscaping of the banks.
The old fishing/angling club has been resurrected.
The fishing on Cavetown Lake is thriving and fish that are in the lake include trout, pike, perch, roach, bream, rud, and hybrids.
Cavetown Residents have regular meetings and fundraising. There is a community area for launching boats, basket ball and tennis court. It is a popular area for swimmers and anglers/boat fishermen.
There is a fantastic diversity of wildlife to be seen on the lake with otters, swans, ducks, grebes, moorhens, herons and other birds. All of these can be seen regularly on the small island in front of the cottage and there are three Bird boxes around the gardens which are being used.
