Description
CORRYARD, DRUMSHAMBO, CO LEITRIM
Large 3 bed detached bungalow with garage
NEW LISTING - Built in 1996 we are delighted to offer for sale this well maintained c.1200 sq ft detached bungalow. Situated on a quiet road in an elevated position with wonderful views of the mountains, Lough Allen and Drumshanbo Town. The property has the benefit of dual fuel heating, three large double bedrooms, large open plan kitchen/diner, separate sitting room with open fire and fully tiled bathroom. Outside there is tarmac hard standing with parking for several cars, a detached garage and unusually large site, c.0.3 acre, which has been cultivated and landscaped over the years to offer mature shrubs, hedges, flower beds and fruit trees. Whilst the property would benefit from an element of modernising, very rarely do properties of this nature so close to town become available and we would therefore recommend viewing as soon as possible.
Gardens:
The property is approached via wrought iron gates onto a tarmac driveway. There are lawns, walls, hedging, flower beds, shrubs, fruit trees, a pond (requiring attention), and an outside tap. There is also a decent size detached garage.
USEFUL INFORMATION ABOUT DRUMSHANBO
Drumshanbo is surrounded by a scenic area of soft rolling hills, woodlands, lakes and the Sliabh an Iarainn and Arigna mountains. It is a beautifully preserved traditional town with traditional pubs, shops and restaurants. The town is justly proud of its links with the past. The legends of the Tuatha de Danann recall the arrival of these magical people in a swirling mist on the nearby Sliabh an Iarainn mountain. They brought with them three musicians, Ceol, Binn and Téidbhinn - music, melody and harmony, whose legacy still remains.
Every July Drumshanbo plays host to the award winning Joe Mooney Summer School. This is a week- long traditional festival of Irish music, song and dance named after the man who did so much to promote his beloved town.
Amenities in Drumshanbo include two equestrian centres, the Lough Allen Ramada Hotel on the shores of Lough Allen, angling, water based leisure activities, hiking on spectacular mapped trails, good schools, church, shopping facilities, banks etc.
