    Kildare is best known as Thoroughbred County because of its many top studs and racecourses, but there's lots more to love about this area of Ireland.

    With Dublin as its neighbour, Kildare is one of Ireland's most affluent counties. It has boomed as a commuter town due to its proximity to the capital city and many international companies have set up here such as Intel and Hewlett Packard.

    Kildare is renowned for shopping, and features Kildare Village, home to around 80 luxury boutiques. It has an excellent nightlife scene but there's no shortage of things to do for families from Redhills Adventure to Base Entertainment Centre.
