    The historical town of Ennis sits on the River Fergus in the heart of Clare and boasts numerous castles, abbeys and friaries to be explored.

    And of course who could forget the successful TV series Father Ted whose parochial house sits on the fictional Craggy Island but in reality is located near Corofin in County Clare.
